Loui Sweater is a simple staple sweater for children in half fisherman’s rib. It is worked from the bottom up, both flat and in the round, using 1 strand of Heavy Merino + 1 strand of Merino held together throughout. Loui Sweater is chunky and extra cozy – perfect for the cold days of winter.
You start with the ribbed bottom hem before continuing in half fisherman’s rib in the round up to the underarms. Here, work is divided, and front and back finished separately, working back and forth. Afterwards, shoulders are closed with Kitchener stitch before stitches are picked up for the sleeves. Sleeves are then worked in the round from the top down and finished with ribbed cuffs. Finally, stitches are picked up for the folded neckband, and the neckband worked in 1×1 rib, mirroring the cuffs and hem.
