Anemone Sweater features an allover Fair Isle flower pattern and ribbed edges. The sweater is knit using 1 strand of Merino and 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout, and it is a perfect project for playing with different color combinations and for using up some of your smaller amounts of leftover yarn.
Anemone Sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round to the underarms. Work is then divided, and front and back are worked back and forth up to the shoulders. Sleeve stitches are then picked up, and sleeves worked in the round from the top down. Finally, stitches for the folded neckband are picked up and the neckband finished in rib.
As an alternative to working the yoke back and forth, the entire sweater can be worked in the round and then steeked (cut). You will find alternative instructions in the pattern for how to work the sweater in the round with additional steek stitches. There are, however, no actual instructions on how to reinforce the steek, cut or finish the steek edges afterwards, and you are advised to use your own preferred methods for this. If you are new to steeking, this is not a good first-time pattern for learning, and we recommend that you work the yoke back and forth instead if this is the case.
