Madeleine Sweater has a loose fit and features an elegant allover lace pattern that makes this a fun and engaging knit from start to finish. It is worked from the bottom up with 2 strands of No Waste Wool held together throughout.
You start working the body in the round to the underarms. Here, work is divided into front and back and finished separately while working back and forth. The shoulders are grafted using Kitchener stitch before the sleeves are worked from the bottom up and grafted to the armhole using Kitchener stitch once more. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckband which is worked in stockinette stitch, before being folded and stitched to the inside afterwards.
The Madeleine stitch pattern is charted only
